Lighting has a direct influence on the way we perceive the room we are in. Harsh, direct light makes us uncomfortable, and actually affects our mood. Soft, diffuse light creates a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Selective lighting may also be used to draw attention to or to highlight objects in a room, such as pieces of artwork.

So how does this affect your home theater? Your electronics systems contractor and Lutron can show you how. Instead of an on/off switch, we use a Lutron Grafik Eye, or Spacer lighting control. Now you can dim your theater lights to any level you desire. If you are controlling multiple zones of lighting, we can also work with you to create lighting “scenes” which you can recall with the press of a single button. These sophisticated devices let you control up to 6 zones of lighting throughout your house with a single device that easily replaces your existing wall switches. You can also control table lamps with tabletop dimmers.

Wall dimmers can be installed similar to ordinary switches. Lamp dimmers just plug into any lamp. Each product works alone, or they can work together as a complete room system. Lutron dimmers also work with a variety of universal remotes so you can control your lighting with the same remote you use to control your TV and DVD player.
